Digital Desk: The National Investigating Agency (NIA) court on Thursday postponed the hearing of two cases lodged against Akhil Gogoi till April 25.
Earlier today, the Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi appeared before the NIA in connection with the cases brought against him during the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protest in December 2019.
Along with Gogoi, other accused Dharjya Konwar, Bitu Sonowal, and Manas Konwar appeared in court.

During the hearing, Akhil Gogoi claimed that the government was planning to keep him imprisoned during the Assam Assembly session.
Earlier, on March 3, the Supreme Court extended Assam MLA Akhil Gogoi's protection from arrest in association with anti-CAA protests until March 13 and suspended links to Maoists.
