Digital Desk: Nagaland has its first-ever medical college, the Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (NIMSR). With the official opening, it welcomes the first batch of inaugural classes, consisting of 100 MBBS students.
While 85 of the new students of the organization are from Nagaland, the remaining 15 come from various parts of the country.
Chief Secretary J. Alam emphasized during the induction program that the event marked the beginning of a new academic year and, more significantly, the realization of a long-cherished desire for the state: a medical college. The induction program took place at the NIMSR academic block in Phriebagie, Kohima.
Additionally, he urged the 45 faculty members to help build a world-class institution. In keeping with the government's goal to ensure that everyone has access to healthcare, he emphasized the students' future role in reducing disparities in healthcare and positively impacting countless lives in order to encourage students to work hard.
