    No More Covid Relaxation for Pregnant Women Employees, Government issues new SOP

    Guwahati:  The Assam government withdrew relaxations given to women employees who are pregnant or have children below three years of age or below from attending office physically under any government and non-governmental organizations on Friday.





    The decision comes after the overall scenario in the state has considerably improved. Notably, the state government is gradually relaxing the restrictions imposed due to the covid induced pandemic.

    In its order signed by the Chief Secretary Jishnu Barua, as the chairperson of State Executive Committee of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), SAID, “The relaxation issued for pregnant women employees and women employees with children of 3 years or below working under any government/ PSU/ financial institutions/ private organizations shall stand withdrawn.”





    Further, it added that whether contractual or on fixed pay, government servants will have to attend office, except those authorized leave.





    As per official reports, 95 percent of the total population in the state has already received the first dose of the covid-19 vaccine and 31 percent have taken both doses. The government data stated that Assam is leading in the vaccination race compared to some of the other states.





    Meanwhile, in its campaign to ensure 100 percent coverage to the eligible population, the Assam government has taken a new initiative to begin a door-to-door vaccination drive in the state. It is a part of the special vaccination campaign, which will be conducted across all 42,000 polling booths in the state between November 22 to November 27, wherein healthcare workers will visit each household to vaccinate the people.
