Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took an indirect jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over India defeating Pakistan at the ODI World Cup match held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Saturday (October 14).

Taking to X, Assam CM wrote, "Yesterday, Bharat defeated Pakistan in the World Cup cricket. The entire country erupted in joy and celebrated the victory. But not a word from 'Mohabbat ki Dukan'."

The Assam Chief Minister most recently attacked the Congress party in a tweet, using the phrase "Mohabbat ki dukaan," which the chief minister claimed did not reflect their views. This was in response to earlier mocking between the two leaders. According to Sarma, it is incorrect to compare "Mohabbat" (love) to "Dukaan" (store), as love is seen as pure and timeless emotion, whereas a shop indicates profit.

At 'The Conclave 2023' in New Delhi, Himanta Biswa Sarma spoke and criticized Rahul Gandhi's choice of words. Sarma highlighted his concern about the term's potential for misunderstanding when used in a political context, claiming that if "Mohabbat" is connected to a "dukaan," it indicates love for the sake of winning votes. Rahul Gandhi frequently receives conflicting messages from various sources, he added.

The ODI World Cup 2023 match between India and Pakistan was played on October 14. India claimed a historic victory by defeating Pakistan by seven wickets, which is considered to be India's largest victory (by wickets) versus Pakistan in the ODI World Championships.

India won all eight of their games against Pakistan in the ODI World Cup, continuing their perfect record against them. Rohit Sharma, India's captain, scored 86 (63), which helped the team reach the mark in 30.3 overs after dismissing Pakistan for 191.
