Opposition MPs of I.N.D.I.A reach violence-hit Manipur, likely to meet governor
The delegation's leader, Gaurav Gogoi, pledged to hear the public's concerns and deliver them to the highest authority.

Digital Desk: The delegation of 20 Members of Parliament (MPs) representing 16 different parties, united under the opposition alliance I.N.D.I.A have come to Imphal, Manipur, for a two-day visit to hear about the people's problems. The team, led by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, seeks to speak for the needs and complaints of the people of Manipur.

The delegation's leader, Gaurav Gogoi, pledged to hear the public's concerns and deliver them to the highest authority. "We are going to speak for the public's demand because we want it to be heard. We have come to support the people of Manipur and deal with their urgent problems," he stated.

Another notable member of the delegation and Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury emphasised the value of conducting surveys and group discussions before making any decisions. He said, "We have several demands from the Governor, and we want to conduct a comprehensive survey and have in-depth discussions to understand the ground realities."

They would reportedly use a chopper to travel from Imphal to Churachandpur due to security concerns. The delegation would be split into two teams because there is only one helicopter available, and the chopper will take them on two separate trips.

The visit takes place while local violence and ethnic tensions have been a growing source of concern. The delegation's main goals are to get firsthand information about the situation, build bridges, and identify a way to achieve harmony and unity.
