Amit Shah's post on 'X' said, "Deeply concerned about the natural disasters triggered by Cyclone Remal in Assam, Tripura, Manipur, Meghalaya, and Mizoram. Also briefed PM Shri @narendramodi Ji on the situation, who expressed solidarity with those affected. Spoke to the respective state Chief Ministers, took stock of the situation, and assured them of all possible help. It's noteworthy that numerous casualties have been reported and hundreds of thousands of individuals have been impacted throughout the northeast due to flash floods, torrential rains, and landslides causing widespread devastation. Persistent rainfall and landslides have led to the isolation of certain areas in the northeast, with floodwaters engulfing railway tracks.
As a result, due to submerged railway tracks across the region, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has halted the operations of express, passenger, and freight train services to southern Assam, Tripura, Manipur, and Mizoram starting from Tuesday.
