The Central Government is adopting an innovative strategy in the field of sports, the Prime Minister added in his address to the audience.

While in Meghalaya, Prime Minister Modi unveiled several development projects. He addressed a throng and stated, "It is a coincidence that when the football world cup final is happening, I am addressing football fans on a football ground."
"On one side, the world’s largest football tournament is happening and we are initiating developmental works from a football ground," PM said.
In his remarks to the audience, the Prime Minister also mentioned that the Central Government is adopting an innovative approach in the field of sports.
"In the area of sports, we are progressing with a new strategy. India's first sports university is in the North East. With 90 such projects, the North East is also receiving the gift of multipurpose halls, football fields, and athletic tracks "he said.
