Digital Desk: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi spoke at a news conference in Aizawl who is on a three-day visit to the poll-bound state of Mizoram where he criticized the BJP party for using regional parties to destroy the state.

Speaking to reporters on the Congress's election-related strategy and campaigning programme, Gandhi slammed Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, claiming that the chief minister is engaged in cultural annihilation, destroying the culture of the Northeast.

Gandhi accused the BJP, which is currently in power, of utilizing regional parties to further its own political goals. He claimed that the ruling party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which has a distinct agenda, are essentially working to destroy the concept of India.

Rahul Gandhi stated during the press conference that "our vision is of decentralization while the BJP's vision is of ruling at the centre and taking all decisions from the centre."

"RSS attacks your national identity, languages, and religious foundation. According to RSS, a single ideology should be in charge of the nation." Gandhi added, "We prefer that the people of Mizoram express their distinct ideologies than to be directly dominated by Delhi."

In response to a question about the party's potential policy implementation, Gandhi said that if the party were elected to power, they planned to expand their successful state-level models, like the Rajasthan health model, to other states.

"We support idea testing. In the entire India, Rajasthan has the best healthcare system. We have created a social security system that safeguards Karnataka's less fortunate citizens. A quintal of rice costs Rs 2000 in Chhattisgarh, which is, in my opinion, the best price for farmers in the entire nation. Our objective includes helping businesses and people from underrepresented groups, as well as offering banking and technical support."

In a criticism of the Prime Minister for avoiding the state, Gandhi said that the BJP had "attacked Manipur using local parties."

"The BJP is causing havoc in the northeast by employing regional parties. My membership, my home, and 25 cases against me have all been taken away by the BJP. We fight on a moral level because the BJP poses a threat to Mizoram. The notion of INDIA is threatened by RSS. Don't allow the BJP to use your vote as leverage since the results won't be favourable," Gandhi said.
