    shocked Guwahati were arrested on Tuesday.



    color:black">Amir Ali and Chintu Medhi, who had been detained in connection
    with the case, were brought before the Kamrup Judicial Magistrate's Judge
    today, and the court remanded them to police detention for five days.



    color:black">The two were apprehended in connection with the murder of Ranjit
    Bora, the manager of Purabi Dairy, who was murdered in broad daylight in
    Guwahati's Panjabari neighbourhood.



    While
    Amir Ali was apprehended in Morigaon, Chintu Medhi was apprehended in Guwahati,
    according to officials.



    color:black">Earlier in the day, authorities identified Amir Ali as the main
    suspect in the infamous Ranjit Bora murder case.



    color:black">Ali was apprehended last evening at his in-house law's in Morigaon.
    During interrogation, he admitted to being the mastermind of the incident in
    Guwahati that killed businessman Ranjit Bora in broad daylight.



    color:black">It should be mentioned that Ali has a number of complaints filed
    against him in Guwahati, including robbery and violence. According to accounts,
    he was also a police informant at one point.



    According
    to authorities, Amir also has a 10-15 person gang working in the city, and a
    manhunt has been initiated to find each and every one of them.



    Furthermore, the bike used
    in the murder was retrieved at Amir's in-laws' home.



    Ranjit Bora, the manager
    of the prominent milk company Purabi Dairy, was shot dead in broad daylight on
    November 21 in Guwahati's Panjabari neighbourhood. He died as a result of
    bullet wounds at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The incident
    occurred while he was on his way to the bank to deposit money.
