Digital Desk: The Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro district announced a rescheduling of school schedules for both government-provincialized and private schools in the area due to the rising mercury levels and the intense heat that has been prevailing. The directive, which aims to protect students' well-being, will go into effect on May 27.
The revised school timings, as outlined by the directive, are as follows:
L.P. Schools: 7:30 A.M. to 12:00 Noon
M.E. Schools: 7:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M
H.S. and H.S.S. Schools: 7:30 A.M. to 01:00 P.M
Schools are instructed to conduct morning assemblies inside classrooms or in shaded places to avoid direct sun exposure in order to further protect students. Additionally, electric fans must be made sure to function, and any broken fans must have repairs or replacements made immediately.
The instruction modifies the school's dress code as well. It is recommended that students avoid wearing ties, waistcoats, and blazers at this time. In addition, if they are uncomfortable, they could choose to wear sandals in place of shoes.
