Digital Desk: On Wednesday, Assam cabinet minister for Assam Accord implementation, Atul Bora, stated that the sub-committee established to look into the implementation will give its report very soon.
At the conclusion of today's meeting, Atul Bora stated that the last sub-committee meeting was held on June 16 of this year.
"Today, we had detailed discussions on the implementation of the Assam Accord, we requested a written list of advice from the AASU (All Assam Students' Union) on this topic. AASU had complied and furnished us with the same on February 1," remarked Atul Bora.
Furthermore, the minister acknowledged that implementation has been delayed in recent months. "Our discussions took longer than expected due to a variety of unforeseeable factors. We will submit our report soon," stated Atul Bora.
He went on to say, "We have decided to submit our report within one month."

Furthermore, when asked about the trust established for those who died during the Assam agitation movement, also known as the "Assam Movement" or "Assam Andolan," Bora stated, "Previously, we had set up a trust of Rs 5 crores for the martyrs of the Assam Movement. The payment has now been enhanced to Rs 10 crores by the Chief Minister."
Furthermore, the cabinet minister indicated that the delimitation process was also one of the priorities that the student body demanded.
