Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while taking a dig at All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal in Bongaigaon said that those who like Ajmal may give birth to more than two kids.

Speaking at a public event in Bongaigaon, the chief minister announced the official launch of social projects worth Rs 150 crore.

The chief minister has been vocal about the negative societal effects of child marriage in the state and has been actively opposing it, stepping up efforts to address this issue.

Assam has faced many difficulties, such as the problem of child marriage, as a result of gender discrimination against girls' rights and education.

Sarma made the statement while he was addressing the public gathering.
He urged the public to support girls' education after the government announced that female students clearing Class 10 exams would receive Rs 10,000 in compensation, Class 12 students would receive Rs 12,500, and Graduation students would receive Rs 15,000.
