Digital Desk: On Saturday evening, two police teams from Assam left to arrest Indian Youth Congress President Srinivas BV based on a complaint filed by expelled Congress Youth leader Angkita Dutta.

According to sources, both police teams were from Guwahati, with one departing for Karnataka and the other for Delhi.

The police team that travelled to Karnataka was led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Police (ADCP) Maitrayee Deka, who is also the case's investigating officer.

Srinivas BV has been charged in Dispur Police Station under Sections 509/294/341/352/354/354(a)(IV)/506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Furthermore, Section 67 of the IT ACT has been included in the case. Soon after her case, it was reported that Angkita Dutta was expelled from the Congress party today for alleged anti-party conduct.

Angkita filed a complaint against Srinivas BV at Dispur Police Station last Wednesday, accusing him of harassment for the last six months.

Angkita stated in her police station report that Srinivas mentally harassed her and made sexist remarks about her. She further accused him of using slang language and threatening her with grave consequences if she continued to speak about him to the highest levels of government.

Dutta further mentioned an encounter with him on March 25 at a hotel in Chhattisgarh, where the accused abused her while gripping her arm, pushing and dragging her, and threatening her using slang terms that he would ruin her life at the Congress party.

She further alleged that she informed the party's high officials, but no action was taken against Srinivas.

Dutta stated after making the complaint that the charge was not submitted against the Congress party but against a specific person who harassed her.

Angkita Dutta demanded saying "I work for the Congress Party," she explained. I did not make a complaint against the party, but rather against a specific individual, Srinivas BV. I have and will continue to work for the party. I hope the culprit is punished for his actions."
