    Assam: Two Chain Snatching Incidents Reported In A Day in Guwahati

    Digital Desk: Chain snatching cases have repeatedly occurred in Guwahati city in the past few months, Recently a woman's gold necklace was stolen by intruders in Guwahati on Wednesday, according to a complaint filed for a local crime.


    According to sources, the incident was taking place at Devadaru Path close to Rajdhani Masjid in the Hatigaon area of Guwahati.


    When the attackers showed up and took the victim woman's gold necklace, she had already left for the neighbourhood market.


    The victim, a woman named Uma Aiyar, as her chain was seized by the two miscreants who had arrived on a motorbike.


    The victim reported the event to the Dispur Police Station in the meantime.


    On the other hand, a second incident of a similar nature involving criminals fleeing after stealing a woman's necklace was reported from the Ganeshguri neighbourhood of Guwahati.

    Putoli Deka was named as the victim in this incident. The incident occurred close to Ganeshguri in Narayanpur.


    It should be emphasised that Guwahati, the state's capital, has seen a substantial increase in minor crimes like chain snatching, despite an overall rise in crime throughout Assam.


    When a woman out for a morning stroll was attacked near Beltola, there was another case of chain theft recorded in Guwahati.


    Two intruders approached on a motorbike and stole the chain from the woman. Jyoti Bora has been identified as the victim.


    Her chain was reportedly taken when she was out on a walk this morning, according to sources. The incident took place in Guwahati's Beltola region close to Bongaon.
