    Teams
from the Army and the NDRF are on hand in the flood-affected districts. They
are conducting rescue missions and providing aid to the impacted parties. In
support of the rescue effort, the IAF has "conducted more than 250
flights," according to PM Modi. 108 people have passed away since the
middle of May, with two passing away in Cachar, one in Barpeta, and one each in
the districts of Bajli, Dhubri, and Tamulpur.

    In the
majority of the afflicted districts, the Brahmaputra, Barak, and their
tributaries are in spate. But in some areas, the floodwaters have subsided.
Cachar, Karimganj, and Hailakandi are the four badly inundated districts of the
Barak Valley. More than six lakh people are being impacted by the Barak and
    Kushiyara rivers' overflowing danger zones.

    According to
officials, the worst scenario is in Barpeta, where 10,32,561 individuals have
been impacted by the floods. 3,99,945 people live in Dhubri, 4,29,166 in
Nagaon, and 4,29,166 in Kamrup. Due to flooding, many state schools have
already started their summer break one week early. Instead of July 1 to July
31, it will now take place from June 25 to July 25.
