    Big Blow To Congress: 3 Prominent Assam Congress Leaders Joined BJP Same Day Resigning From Congress

    Three prominent figures holding important positions left Congress to join BJP ahead of Lok Sabha Polls


    Digital Desk: Anuj Barkatki, Manas Bora, and Gaurav Somani join the BJP on Saturday in the presence of President Bhavesh Kalita at Assam BJP headquarters, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan at Hengrabari.

     

    Manash Nath, son of Akon Bora, former Assam Social Welfare Minister in the Congress government, resigned from the Congress party on Saturday and joined the BJP the same day. He was the General Secretary of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee. In a heartfelt letter addressed to Congress chief Mallikaarjuna Kharge, Borah expressed his gratitude for the opportunities provided to him to serve the people of his state in various capacities.

     

    Anuj Borkataki is the son of former Education Minister Sarat Barkotoky. He was Congress chief of the Charaideo district before resigning on Saturday. 

     

    All India Professionals' Congress president, Gauravv Somani, resigned on Saturday from all party positions and the Congress party's primary membership and joined the BJP. Shashi Tharoor formed the All India Professionals' Congress, or AIPC, as a section of the Indian National Congress in 2017, emphasising working professionals and entrepreneurs.

     

    Minister Piyuz Hazarika, Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, MP Pabitra Margherita, MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya, and Captain Abhimanyu were present at the joining ceremony.
