Heavy rainfall likely to incline this week over Assam-Meghalaya

IMD stated that scattered rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds would likely hover across Bihar, Jharkhand, Eastern Ghats of West Bengal, and Odisha in the next five days.

Digital Desk: In the eight northeastern states, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and wide regions of southern peninsular India, where heavy downpours have lashed, The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted similar rains over the next five days on Monday.

Fairly widespread rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorm/ lightning/ gusty winds, is very likely over Kerala-Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana during the next five days, under the influence of cyclonic circulation over southwest Bay of Bengal off north Tamil Nadu coast.

Heavy rainfall, accompanied by rainstorms, is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim over the next five days due to strong southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal to northeastern states at lower tropospheric levels.

"Thundersquall (winds reaching 50-60 kmph) and hailstorm in isolated areas are extremely likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim on Tuesday," according to the IMD.
