As the grandson of Late Hemchandra Baruah, Jayanta Baruah conceptualised and produced the Braille edition of 'Hemkosh.'
Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Jayanta Baruah, Chairman of the prominent Assamese media firm 'Sadin Pratidin,' and his team on the publication of the Braille version of 'Hemkosh,' the first etymological dictionary of the Assamese language.
PM Modi posted on Twitter, "Glad to have received a copy of the Braille version of 'Hemkosh,' which was among the earliest Assamese dictionaries dating back to the nineteenth century." I congratulate Mr. Jayanta Baruah and his team on their efforts that resulted in the publishing of the Braille edition."
On September 17, Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi released the Braille edition of 'Hemkosh,' the first etymological dictionary of the Assamese language. This issue, published by the Sadin-Pratidin organisation, will be provided free of charge to visually impaired citizens.
This programme attempts to improve education for visually impaired students while also advancing the Assamese language.
