    Digital Desk: The
    Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DirVAC) arrested a government
    official for accepting a Rs 90,000 bribe in exchange for renewing the license
    of a security firm. The team was led by Special DGP GP Singh. While taking Rs
    90,000 from the complainant for the renewal of a security firm license, KK
    Sharma, ACS, the Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, was apprehended
    and arrested.



    After conducting another
    search at his residence, the DirVAC team discovered Rs. 49 lakh in undeclared
    cash. The relevant legal provisions permit the seizure of cash. "Further
    to the capture and arrest of Sri KK Sharma last evening, a search by @DIR VAC
    ASSAM at his residential premise has resulted in the recovery of illegal cash
    INR 49 Lacs 24 Thousand 700," GP Singh, Special DGP, tweeted.



    Under the direction of
    Special DGP GP Singh, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption has
    continued to spearhead the Assam government's anti-corruption campaign. Between
    May 10, 2021, and October 19, 2022, 41 cases have been registered, with 40 cases
    submitted as of that date. "It is compulsory by law to have trap cases
    registered with the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department.
