Simultaneously, Outlook Traveller has bestowed awards on three more Northeastern Indian states.

Three further Northeastern Indian states have similarly received accolades from Outlook Traveller. The Northeastern state of Sikkim won the Gold Award for Pelling and Kanchenjunga, which were named the "Best Mountain/Hill Views Destination in India" and "Best Scenic Drive Destination in India," respectively, for their scenic drives from Gangtok to Lake Tsomgo and the mountain pass Nathu-La.

The two other Northeastern Indian states earning Silver Awards are Nagaland for its Angami Naga town Khonoma, which has been hailed as the "Best Offbeat Destination in India," and Meghalaya for its village Mawlynnong, which has been named the "Best Eco-Tourism Destination in India."

The Orang National Park and Tiger Reserve in Assam earlier that month took up the renowned 2nd Annual IUCN WCPA International Ranger Award 2022. This honour recognizes the outstanding work done by rangers in protected areas all over the world.
