Digital Desk: Adharxila Trust presents the Brahmaputra Literature Festival – New Delhi World Book Fair Edition 2025/26, To be held from 6th-8th February 2025, at Pragati Maidan as part of the National Book Trust’s Festival of Festival’s Theme.
It will take place at the Authors’ Corner, Hall No. 5, Bharat Mandapam, sessions will start at 3 p.m. daily with 12 speakers and 3 sessions each day over three days with 42 speakers in all. The festival promises to go high in literature and art while embracing the cultural heritage of the Northeast but at the same time universal in outreach.
The programme will revolve around prose, poetry, children’s stories, graphic novels, songs, and food practices to translations, publishing, bookselling, and world affairs. Prominent figures in the event will be award winning writer Arup Kumar Dutta, writer cum vocalist Mitra Phukan, artist Parismita Singh, poet Rita Chowdhury and author Kynpham Sing Nongkynrih among others. With the award presentation, music and poetry will continue with Maitrayee Patar, poet and singer who works in the field of Assamese literature and new age music.
Rita Chowdhury, the Founder & Director of the Brahmaputra Literature Festival said, “After founding Adharxila in 2012, it has been my desire to come up with this literary event that will embrace the best writers, poets, and authors from Assam, the Northeast and India and would establish international linkages through literature and dialogue.”
The Brahmaputra Literature Festival is a festival of the best in Assam and North East writing and literature, connecting local and international writers and readers. This international fest is organized every February in Assam, carries on the tradition of enriching cultural and literary cooperation.
