    Pari Turns 1: Kaziranga’s Adorable Baby Elephant, Celebrating Her Big Day!

    Digital Desk: Pari, the lovable baby elephant of Kaziranga National Park, turned one year old today. Pari is the calf of a tamed elephant in the Bagori Range of the park which is known as Bhadoi. To blemish the special occasion, the Forest Department, along with the officials, staff, and tourists from across the world celebrated Pari’s birthday by cutting off a cake. Over the past year, Pari has apprehended the love and affection of everyone and become the cherished 'darling' of Kaziranga National Park.


    It was on the 11th of January, 2024, that Bhadoi gave birth to Pari in the Bagori Range. The beloved little calf born at the start of the year was lovingly named Pari by her mahouts. Beneath their love and care, Pari grew into a fun-loving and cheerful calf, captivating all with her capers. Additionally, Pari is the granddaughter of Krishna who is Bhadoi’s mother. Due to the endowment of her family, Pari’s energetic character has made her beloved and favorite among staff and visitors alike.

    All over the day, Pari was seen frisking around her mother, illustrating smiles from the observers. Her powerful bond with her attendant and cheerful manner have made her a cherished part of the National Park. 

    At present, the Bagori Range is the residence of 18 domesticated elephants under the care of the Forest Department, together with 6 calves. Apart from Pari, another notable calf is Kristy. On the instance of Pari’s birthday, the forest department also arranged a health check-up for all
    departmental and privately owned elephants, securing their well-being.


    Pari’s first birthday was not just a celebration of her growth but a reminder of the love and care elephants receive in Kaziranga National Park. It moreover intensifies the bond between this impressive creature and the people who protect them.
