'Policemen are trained for all fields' comments Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sharma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that police officers are effective and will successfully tackle the modern trend of hoodlums targeting older people.

Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Monday that police officers are effective and will successfully combat the recent trend of miscreants targeting senior citizens.

Sarma stated on the sidelines of the release of the party manifesto for the Guwahati Municipal Corporation election: "Guwahati is typically regarded as a very safe destination.

However, we have recently seen elements enter Guwahati and attempt to take advantage of senior citizens. The police are acting, and the police are working. I am confident that the police will be able to address all of the recent issues."

He expressed confidence that the police would be able to reduce criminal activity using methods such as remote cameras and human intelligence.

Sarma also stated that organized crime in the city has decreased by 39% in the last three months due to the State Government's determination to control criminals.

In response to a media person's observation that many police officers have to perform their duties while getting soaked by rain, Sarma quipped: "Police officers will have to perform their duties while standing in the rain. How will police and military personnel serve the country if they can't stand the rain?"

He stated that even Chief Ministers must carry out their duties, even getting wet in the rain. "Nobody can afford the luxury of a safe haven. If the Army and police start having safe zones, the public will never be safe "He stated.

The Chief Minister emphasized that police officers are trained for all-terrain and all-weather duties.
