Digital Desk: The Raijor Dol celebrated its fourth Foundation Day on Wednesday at Shilpagram of Panjabari in the presence of Raijor Dol leader and MLA Akhil Gogoi, former Principal of Cotton College Sitanath Lahkar, and former Principal of Gauhati Commerce College Ghanashyam Nath. Eminent writer and scholar Dr. Hiren Gohain attended the event as the Chief guest.
The attendees paid their tribute to the five martyrs of the CAA movement. The Raijor Dol has also released a 'vision document' which promised various development initiatives if the party comes to power in the upcoming election.
This vision document includes:
1. To be self-sufficient, all the paddy fields will be irrigated so that farmers can grow their crops three times a year.
2. All the farmers will receive appropriate prices for the crops they grow to ensure an increase in their income.
3. A plan to bring back the market full of locally grown things for the Assamese people.
4. Small and Medium industries to set up in all the villages.
5. Assam to be recognized as one of the top states for tourism in the country.
Dr. Hiren Gohain, who was present at the program said that the Government is responsible for the tragic incident that occurred in Umrangso. The beneficiary system of government has destroyed the Assamese race. He urged the Government to provide employment by establishing industries in the state. Criticizing the Advantage Assam, an initiative taken by the Government, Dr. Gohain said that it will soon convert into 'Disadvantage Assam'.
He also added that the Congress cannot form government by defeating BJP as times have changed. Congress should realize that it has limited power in the state. He also advised all the opposition parties to join hands. He hoped that the people from minority areas would cast their vote for Akhil Gogoi as they are aware of the recent happenings in Assam.
MLA Akhil Gogoi in his speech said that the money earned from Umrangso and Karbi-Anglong directly goes to Dispur. Gogoi also alleged that illegal coal mining is still going on under the leadership of the CEM of the Karbi-Anglong Autonomous Council Tuliram Ronghang and the CEM of Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Debolal Garlosa. He also challenged the Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma to arrest Debolal Garlosa's wife.
Akhil Gogoi has given a deadline to the Congress to finalize the alliance on and before the Panchayat election. He said that if Congress is not ready to join hands during the Panchayat election then there is no chance of any alliance with them in the upcoming Assembly Polls of 2026. He also said that the Raijor Dol cannot rely on the Congress.
