We are waiting for sanction for the ‘traffic block’ from the State government,” said Pranav Jyoti Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of NFR.
It is noteworthy that the old Saraighat bridge was commissioned in the early 1960s. Cracks appear in the slabs of the upper deck at times due to heavy movement of vehicles and NFR carries out repairs at intervals.
