    Digital Desk: In a significant development in the political landscape of Karbi Hills, former Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Executive Member Pradeep Rangpi joined the Congress party today at the district Congress office in Diphu. Along with Rangpi, several other leaders also joined the Congress, marking a major shift in the political dynamics of the region.

     

    Rangpi, while addressing the media after joining the Congress, made explosive remarks against the existing executive members of the KAAC, stating that they were not worthy and were useless. He further added that the Executive Body of the KAAC was now nominal, with one person running everything. Rangpi also criticised the senior leaders in the district BJP, stating that they (senior BJP leaders) were not important in the party.

     

    21 women led by the BJP's Sangeeta Bepi, including Hamren Nagar Samiti's ward commissioner Dilip Hanse, former Mandal BJP president and current ST Morcha vice president Jaising Bongrung, BJP party IT cell chairman Peter Tiso, and Singthong BJP party's former secretary Rasing Ingti, joined the Congress party. NPP’s former MLA candidate David Rengma, leader Rajen Timung, and hundreds of APHLC and ASDC leaders, members joined Congress.

     

    The Congress is expected to gain further momentum in the region with the entry of leaders like Rangpi, who have a significant following in the region. The BJP, on the other hand, will face a significant challenge in retaining its political influence. The entry of Pradeep Rangpi and other leaders into the Congress is expected to have a significant impact on the political landscape of Karbi Hills.
