    Ten new cases of COVID-19 reported in Assam, the highest number since March 1

    On March 1 of this year, the state lodged 12 cases against the testing of 2,479 samples.


    Digital Desk: The number of people infected with COVID-19 in Assam increased to 7,24,267 on Tuesday, the highest single-day increase since March 1, according to a health bulletin.


    As 432 samples were tested for the infection, a daily positivity rate of 2.31 per cent was recorded.


    On March 1 of this year, the state filed 12 complaints against the testing of 2,479 samples.


    It said that eight new cases had been reported in the Kamrup district and one in Bongaigaon and Kamrup Metropolitan districts.


    There are currently 33 active cases in the state, with 7,16,246 people have recovered.


    2.55 per cent of samples tested positive for the infection, with 2.83 crore samples tested so far.


    According to the report, COVID-19 vaccines have been given to a total of 2.44 crore people, 2.10 crore have been fully vaccinated, and 5.66 lakh have received the booster dose.
