    Thursday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma complimented Bollywood actor
    Arjun Kapoor and Bollywood director Rohit Shetty for donating Rs 5 lakh to the
    state's CM Relief Fund for flood victims.



    "Bollywood
    actor Arjun Kapoor and filmmaker Rohit Shetty stood by the
    flood-affected people of Assam with their contribution of 5 lakh to the CM
    Relief Fund," Assam CM posted on Twitter. "I appreciate their
    compassion and generosity."

    with Assam still reeling from the havoc wreaked by pre-monsoon rains last
    month, the state's flood situation worsened on Tuesday, following continuous
    and severe rain since June 13.

    floods have affected 18 districts, including Guwahati, the state capital.

    year, the state has recorded 42 deaths as a result of floods and landslides,
    including four people who were buried by a massive mountain of earth in the
    Boragaon district on Tuesday.

    roadways in numerous sections of the city, with Anil Nagar, Nabin Nagar,
    Rajgarh Link Road, Rukminigaon, Hatigaon, and Krishna Nagar among the
    worst-affected.

    Response Force (NDRF) and SDRF personnel deployed in these areas use boats to
    rescue people and offer relief materials to those still stuck in flooded homes.
