Following a swift crackdown, police apprehended eight suspects from different locations.
Digital Desk: Ajoy Barman, son of late Bhagaban Barman from Shantipur Mangaldai raised an official FIR yesterday regarding his stolen truck bearing AS13AC 5614 registration. The vehicle, had been parked near the Sai Baba Mandir parking space for more than a month.
The police confiscated the recovery van (Reg No: AS01Y 4088) which as used in the criminal activity at Basistha. Police conducted a search operation at the dump yard located in 13 Mile, Meghalaya, based on gathered information. Police found the scrapped remains of the stolen truck at the dump yard in 13 Mile Meghalaya through their search operation. The stolen vehicle had been placed onto another truck (Reg No: HR58B 7366). Criminal investigators recovered the stolen vehicle motor along with its engine from the stolen vehicle.
The authorities quickly arrested eight criminal suspects who were operating from numerous locations:-

3. Maidul Islam (Mukalmuwa, Nalbari)
4. Ainul Haque (Hajo, Kamrup)
5. Nazrul Islam (Bongaigaon)
6. Pankaj Yadav (Lalmati, Guwahati)
7. Sanjib Kumar (Haryana)
8. Ranbir Arora (Haryana)
The case is under further investigation as authorities probe the extent of the vehicle theft racket.
