Digital Desk: Veteran Assamese actor Nipon Goswami breathed his last on Thursday at the age of 80 at the Nemcare Hospital in Guwahati.
The actor was reportedly suffering from heart-related issues for a while and his condition deteriorated all of a sudden on October 24 following which he was hospitalised.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma condoles the death of the great actor.
Meanwhile, Former Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal also consoled his death and said, "The polestar of Assamese cinema is no more. Deeply saddened to learn about the demise of veteran actor Nipon Goswami. A star since the 1960s, Nipon da had captivated the hearts of audience and his death brings an end to a golden era."
Furthermore, PM Modi also tweeted condoling the actor's death and lauded his diverse work in films.
