    While accepting bribes, Assam government officials were caught red-handed.

    Digital Desk: Two members of the state government were
    caught receiving a bribe by the Assam police's vigilance and anti-corruption
    unit on Friday. According to sources, in one of the incidences, the Morigaon
    police and the anti-corruption wing set a trap and caught Barsha Bora Bordoloi,
    the district excise superintendent of Morigaon, red-handed while taking a
    bribe.



    While requesting Rs 1 lakh from a person to get permission
    for a wine shop in the district, the aforementioned culprit was detained. When
    receiving the money, she was detained after a complaint was made against her.



    Similar to this, Nabajyoti Sarma, the assistant office of
    the block elementary education officer (BEEO), Khuwang, Dibrugarh, was detained
    while taking bribe money in another operation by the anti-corruption wing. In
    the meantime, a police official in Assam's Darrang district was recently
    detained on suspicion of making money falsely. According to sources, Utpal
    Bora, the officer-in-charge (OC) at the Kharupetia police station in the
    Darrang district, was named as the guilty officer.



    According
    to reports, Bora used to make up cases against people in an effort to extort
    money from them. According to reports, after registering fictitious charges
    against a teacher and a doctor, he reportedly wanted a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from
    them. This went on for a while, and after he was captured, his wrongdoings
    finally came to light.
