Digital Desk: The BCCI has sacked Chetan Sharma's selection committee following India's poor performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. India, who topped the group 2 points table in the super 12 round, were defeated by England by a ten-wicket margin in the semi-final.

After the competition, the BCCI sacked the senior men's team selection committee and issued an open call for new applicants. During the tenure of Chetan Sharma's selection committee, the Indian side failed to win the ICC World Test Championship 2021, the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

The Committee has been accused of making poor selection decisions, which affected the team's success in many important events and jeopardized the careers of some players. 1. Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane is the first Indian player whose career could be resurrected following the dismissal of Chetan Sharma's selection committee. The right-handed batsman was the Test team's vice-captain last year, but he was replaced by Rohit Sharma as vice-captain after the latter took over the ODI and T20I captaincy.

The 34-year-old has so far appeared in 82 Test matches for India, averaging 38.52. However, he was dropped from the national team due to poor batting form last year. In 2021, the middle-order batsman played 13 Tests, but this year, he only participated in 2. In January of this year, he last participated in the Test series against South Africa.

2. Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw is another Indian player whose career could be revived following the dismissal of Chetan Sharma's selection committee. The right-handed batsman is an opening batsman with international experience. The 23-year-old averages 42.38 in 5 Tests and 31.50 in 6 ODIs.

He also played one T20I game in which he did not score any runs. Shaw, who plays for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL, has also scored a century and two half-centuries in the longest format. 3. Sanju Samson
