Ahead of WC 2023 Sri Lankan cricket team arrives in Guwahati for warm-up matches
Guwahati will host four warm-up matches ahead of the World Cup...

Digital Desk: Cricket teams began to arrive in Guwahati on Wednesday ahead of the four warm-up matches to be held in the city for the ICC World Cup 2023.
The Sri Lankan squad arrived at the Guwahati Airport early this morning.

The Bangladeshi team is reportedly scheduled to arrive in the city at around 5 PM on Wednesday. Both teams will reportedly be staying at the Vivanta Guwahati.

It should be noted that Guwahati will host four warm-up matches ahead of the World Cup.

When the ICC announced the schedule for the tournament that was to be held in India back in June, Guwahati's Barsapara Stadium was snubbed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The ICC's schedule states that four warm-up matches will take place at Guwahati's Barsapara Stadium from September 29 to October 3.

The first warm-up match is between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka on September 29. The second warm-up match is between India and England on September 30.

The third warm-up match, between England and Bangladesh, will take place on October 2. Afghanistan will play Sri Lanka in the fourth and final warm-up match in Guwahati.

It should be mentioned that all 10 nations competing in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will play two official 50-over match contests in the week leading up to the start of the World Cup on October 5. The matches will take place in three different cities across India, according to ICC.
