    BCCI announces India's 5-match Test schedule against England starting January next year

    Digital Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has set schedules for India's five-match Test series against England following the ODI World Cup in 2023. India will play England in five Test matches beginning in January of next year.


    India will start their World Test Championship campaign in the third phase when they meet England in January of next year. The Men in Blue have five Test matches against England scheduled.



    The first match of the series will be played on January 25, 2024, in Hyderabad. The second match will be contested on February 2 in Vizag. On February 15, Rajkot will host the third match of the series. The fourth match will take place in Ranchi on February 23. On March 7, 2024, the fifth and final Test match of the series will be played at Dharamsala.


    The previous time England visited India, they won a four-match Test series 3-1. The four matches were held in Chennai and Ahmedabad, with each location hosting two matches.

    India began their third World Cup campaign with a 1-0 victory over the West Indies in the Caribbean. India easily won the first Test of the two-match series, defeating the hosts by an innings and 141 runs at Windsor Park in Dominica. They were held to a tie in the second match of the series after rain ruined the final day of the game at Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain.


    Before the West Indies series, India faced Australia in the World Test Championship final in 2023. The Baggy Greens defeated India by 209 runs, handing Rohit Sharma's team their second World Cup loss. India has lost the first WTC cycle final to Kane Williamson's New Zealand team.
