Digital desk: The owners of the ten IPL teams have been invited by the BCCI to an informal meeting on April 16 in Ahmedabad, there could be discussions on player retention and a possible rise in the auction budget for the franchises. The meeting will happen on the sidelines of Narendra Modi Stadium during the Delhi Capitals vs. Gujarat Titans game.

A BCCI official told PTI, "The IPL owners have been invited for an informal meeting. There is no set agenda. Since IPL will be into its second month, it will be a good time for all stakeholders to get together."

Discussions on player retention and a possible rise in the auction budget, which is now at Rs 100 crore, are likely to center around the major auction that is scheduled for later this year.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, President Roger Binny, and IPL chairman Arun Dhumal will attend the meeting.

Teams are currently permitted to hold four players before each mega auction, which takes place once every three years and takes place in 2022. The following massive auction will take place in advance of the league's 2025 season.

The final of the two-month IPL will take place in Chennai on May 26. It started on March 22.

On May 21 and 22, Ahmedabad will host the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator, and on May 24, Chennai will host the Qualifier.

Following the announcement of the general election dates last week, the BCCI released the complete calendar of games, having previously only disclosed the schedule for the first two weeks.

Starting on April 19, the seven-phase elections will take place alongside the league.
