'Great for cricket that India lost World Cup final': Former Pakistan cricketer Abdul Razzaq makes bizarre remark
India lost to Australia on the most crucial day of the World Cup after leading the tournament with ten straight wins, most of them in one-sided games.

Digital Desk: Former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq, who fell under criticism for insulting Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, has once again made negative remarks about the Indian cricket team following their defeat in the 2023 World Cup final.

Speaking on India's defeat to Australia in the ODI World Cup final, Razzaq says on a talk show that "it's great for cricket that India lost" in a video that has gone viral on social media. In an odd statement, Razzaq said that India had too much artificial intelligence in its pitches and hence did not deserve to win the 2023 World Cup final.

"Indians were over-confident. India was defeated and cricket won. There would have been a great deal of sadness for the game if India had won the World Cup. I have never witnessed such a bad pitch for an ICC final, but they took advantage of the conditions. It's great for cricket that India lost," While discussing Australia's victory against India in the final, Razzaq stated on the Pakistani TV show "Hasna Mana Hai."

Razzaq cited two quite different semifinals in a bid to support his argument. Slightly more than a day later, the second knockout stage took place in Kolkata's Eden Gardens, following the high-scoring match between India and New Zealand in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, which saw over 700 runs scored. The pitch at the Narendra Modi Stadium, however, was completely different for the final match.

India lost to Australia on the most crucial day of the World Cup after leading the tournament with ten straight wins, most of them in one-sided games. India lost the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 240 runs. Despite putting Australia on the back foot in the first Powerplay with three quick wickets, Travis Head's second World Cup century helped Australia win with six wickets left.

"Had India won, we would have felt very bad since they were taking advantage of the circumstances; in one semifinal, they scored 400 while the other team only managed 350. Two hundred and thirty runs were scored in the other semifinal. 240 runs were then scored in the last innings. It implies that there is a problem (with the circumstances). Fair pitches, an equitable atmosphere, and balance on both teams are all that should be present. India took advantage today as well. The World Cup would have been won by India if Kohli (Virat) had scored 100," Razzaq said.
