Guwahati all set to host WC 2023 warm-up matches: Indian Cricket Team to arrive today
The Indian team is scheduled to arrive at 3.15 pm today at Borjhar's Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati.

Digital Desk: The Indian cricket squad will arrive in Guwahati on Thursday afternoon for the pre-ICC World Cup 2023 matches, which will take place in the city, a day after the conclusion of the ODI series encounter against Australia.

The Indian team is scheduled to arrive at 3.15 pm today at Borjhar's Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati.

For the warm-up games, which begin on September 29 and continue till October 3, the England squad will arrive in the city at midnight.

It has been confirmed that both cricket teams will be residing in the Radisson Blu Hotel in the Jalukbari area.

The Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi teams came to the city for the exhibition games yesterday, and they are currently residing at the Vivanta Hotel in Khanapara.

Notably, four World Cup warm-up games will be held in Guwahati.

When the ICC released the schedule for the event to be hosted in India back in June, Guwahati's Barsapara Stadium was passed over by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The ICC's schedule states that four exhibition games will take place at Guwahati's Barsapara Stadium between September 29 and October 3.

The first warm-up match is slated for Bangladesh vs. Sri Lanka on September 29. The second warm-up game will feature India vs. England on September 30.

The third match, between England and Bangladesh, will take place after this on October 2, while the fourth and final warm-up game, between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, will take place in Guwahati.

The week before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 kicks off on October 5th, each of the 10 competing teams will compete in two official 50-over matches in three different cities across India, according to the ICC.
