Hardik Pandya posts emotional message after getting ruled out of remainder matches of World Cup 2023

Digital Desk: India all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who will miss the remainder of the 2023 World Cup campaign, wrote an emotional message after getting ruled out. Pandya has not been in the Indian lineup since suffering an ankle injury during a bowling match against the Bangladeshi squad earlier in the tournament.

On October 19, while bowling his opening over of the game, Pandya stumbled while following through with his run-up.

Pandya needed assistance getting out of the ground after the Indian physio was rushed to the ground. Pandya was supposed to make a comeback for India's game against England at the time, but that did not transpire.

Early on Saturday, November 4, the Indian Cricket Council (ICC) declared that Pandya would not be participating in the tournament any longer and that Prasidh Krishna would be the team's replacement.

Taking to X, Pandya wrote, "Tough to digest the fact that I will miss out on the remaining part of the World Cup. I'll be with the team, in spirit, cheering them on every ball of every game. Thanks for all the wishes, the love, and the support has been incredible. This team is special and I'm sure we'll make everyone proud. Love, always, HP."

Due to his injury, Pandya is one of India's most important players in the 2023 World Cup who has put India in a difficult situation. In response to Hardik's injury, India changed their starting lineup twice. They chose to bench Shardul Thakur from the Indian team in favor of adding Mohammed Shami and Suryakumar Yadav to the lineup. Despite Pandya's injury, the Indian squad has been playing brilliantly. India is the only team in the competition that has not lost and has made it to the semi-finals. India, who have won seven straight games, next face South Africa at Kolkata's Eden Gardens.
