This setback came after Pandya sustained an ankle injury during India's recent face-off with Bangladesh, prompting concerns among fans and team management.

The fateful incident occurred in the 9th over of the Bangladesh innings, when Pandya endeavored to block a shot from Litton Das using his right leg.
