ICC announces Prize Money for World Test Championship Final
South Africa will receive about Rs 3.72 crore despite not making it to the WTC final and now sitting third in the points standings.

Digital Desk: The prize money for the World Test Championship 2021–2023 cycle was revealed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday. An official announcement claims that the nine teams will split a whopping Rs 31.4 crore, the same amount as the previous cycle (2019–21). At the Lord's in London, beginning on June 7, India will compete against Australia in the WTC championship game. The grand reward for winning the WTC Final will be worth approximately Rs 13.22 crore, while the runners-up will receive approximately Rs 6.61 crore.

"There is no change to the tournament prize money, which is the same as it was for the championship's first season (2019–21), with a total payment of $3.8 million (about Rs. 13.22 crore). New Zealand's eight-wicket victory over India in the rain-drenched six-day WTC final earned them $1.6 million (about Rs. 6.61 crore) in Southampton in 2021", according to an ICC announcement.

South Africa will receive about Rs 3.72 crore despite not making it to the WTC final and now sitting third in the points standings.

England will receive $350,000 (about Rs. 2.9 crore), finishing their campaign in fourth place after a late surge.

"Sri Lanka, who was one of the top teams competing for a position in the decisive game during the epic finale, finished fifth and earned $200,000 (about Rs 1.65 crore).

"The remaining teams, New Zealand (No.6), Pakistan (No.7), West Indies (No.8), and Bangladesh (No.9), will each receive a cheque for $100,000 (about Rs 82.7 lakh)," the statement added.
