Digital Desk: India's captain, Rohit Sharma showcased his batting prowess in the fifth and final Test match against England at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, scoring his 18th Test half-century. This remarkable feat also propelled him past the 1000-run mark as India's Test captain, making him the 10th Indian skipper to achieve such a milestone.

Joining the ranks of cricket legends like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Sunil Gavaskar, Mohammed Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly, MAK Pataudi, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Kapil Dev, Rohit's achievement adds another layer to his already illustrious career.

Rohit's crucial knock played a pivotal role in India finishing Day 1 at 135 for 1, trailing England by 83 runs. Alongside fellow opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, the duo formed a formidable partnership, amassing 104 runs before Jaiswal's departure after contributing a brisk 57 off 58 deliveries.

The day also witnessed an impressive performance from India's bowlers. Wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav shone brightly, securing his fourth five-wicket haul in Tests by dismantling England's top and middle order. Kuldeep's figures of five wickets for 72 runs in 15 overs played a crucial role in bundling out England for 218 runs in their first innings.

Ravichandran Ashwin, celebrating his 100th Test match, provided valuable support with four wickets, cleaning up England's tail. The milestone man, Ashwin, dismissed Ben Foakes, Tom Hartley, Mark Wood, and James Anderson, contributing to India's dominant bowling display.

Zak Crawley emerged as the standout performer for England, scoring a resilient 79 runs off 108 balls, including 11 boundaries and a six. Jonny Bairstow, playing his 100th Test match, added a quick-fire 29 to surpass the 6000-run mark in Tests, becoming the 17th Englishman to achieve this milestone.

As India already secured the series 3-1, the team aims to conclude the five-match Test series on a high note. With Rohit Sharma's captaincy and the team's collective efforts, the cricketing world anticipates an exciting culmination to the series in Dharamsala.
