IPL 2022 schedule: Tournament to be played at these venues
Digital DeskDue to the Coronavirus pandemic, the 15th season of the Indian Premier League will be played in Mumbai and Pune across four stadiums. There will be 55 games in Mumbai at Wankhede, Brabourne, and DY Patil Stadiums, while 15 games will be played at Pune's MCA International Stadium.

Currently, two dates are being considered by the IPL governing council for the season's start. It is preferable for the tournament to start on March 26 (Saturday) according to the official broadcaster, however, March 27 was also considered as an option.

It is expected that the IPL 2022 final will take place on May 29, while the venues for the playoffs have not yet been selected.

An IPL governing council meeting is scheduled for February 24 (Thursday) where the final call on schedule could be taken.

With three matches on the first weekend, we understand that a Saturday start assists the broadcaster in kicking off the league on a high note. A Sunday inauguration would not permit that. The BCCI and the broadcasters were in discussion over this and eventually, it could be on March 26," a franchise official said.

According to the report, the official broadcaster has asked commentators to be ready from March 19 to June 7. In the beginning, " I wanted to check with you about your availability for the world feed broadcast of IPL 2022. So request you to please provide your availability not only for the tournament but probably say minus 8-10 days from the start date and plus five days from the end date to be safe, so effectively from 19th March 2022 to say June 7, 2022 (sic)," the mail says.
