Digital Desk: The IPL final showdown between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday will not only determine the tournament champion but also the recipient of a considerable cash prize. Popular for offering the highest prize money among franchise cricket tournaments worldwide, the IPL 2024 winners are expected to receive a minimum amount of Rs 20 crore, aligning with the prize bestowed upon Chennai Super Kings in the previous year.

Moreover, the runners-up can anticipate a substantial reward of Rs 13 crore, consistent with the prize money allocated in the previous season. The total prize purse for IPL 2023 teams tallied Rs 46.5 crore, with the third-placed team receiving  Rs 7 crore and the fourth-placed team securing Rs 6.5 crore. This prize distribution framework remained unchanged in the 2022 season.

In the IPL, the Orange Cap and Purple Cap winners each stand to earn Rs 15 lakh, mirroring the previous year's rewards. Additionally, the Emerging Player of the Tournament may seize a cash prize of Rs 20 lakh, while the Most Valuable Player of the Season could be granted Rs 12 lakh. The culmination of the season sees the presentation of other esteemed awards, including Power Player of the Season, Super Striker of the Season, and Game Changer of the Season, offering prize money amounts of Rs 15 lakh, Rs 15 lakh, and Rs 12 lakh, respectively.

Furthermore, following each IPL 2024 match, six additional awards are bestowed alongside the player of the match accolade, each accompanied by a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh.
