India gets ‘five penalty runs’ after Bangladesh fielder's error results in rare event on cricket field: Watch the video
To proceed to the World Test Championship (WTC) final, Team India must win the current two-game Test series against Bangladesh, the tournament's hosts.

Digital Desk: On Day 2 of the first Test match against Bangladesh, Team India continued their innings from an overnight total of 278/6 in 90 overs. India was at 293/7 when they lost Shreyas Iyer, who perished shortly after making 86 runs. But Kuldeep Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin put together a solid partnership to push the total above 350 without losing another wicket. Ashwin reached his 13th half-century in Test matches during the partnership.

Fans' focus was brought to the visitors' allocation of five penalty runs for Bangladesh's poor fielding as India's innings got underway. R Ashwin got an edge off the second delivery of Taijul Islam's 112nd over, and the ball went past first slip and into the area of the third man. Following the throw, the ball struck the helmet that was behind the wicketkeeper, resulting in five penalty runs being given to Team India.
