season 2023 is on the horizon. All ten franchises were hard at work preparing
for the next season. The IPL 2023 mini-auction is expected to take place in
December, and ten franchises must announce their plans and release player lists
    by November 15.

    Speaking of the Chennai
Super Kings, it has been announced that captain MS Dhoni will retire from the
    IPL.

"Dhoni is expected to retire from
cricket after next year's IPL," according to the Telegraph, "and the
BCCI is anxious to put his experience and technical skills to good use."
Because managing three forms has become too onerous for Rahul Dravid, the
former skipper may be asked to work with a specialised group of players.

    "The BCCI has
explored incorporating Mahendra Singh Dhoni in some capacity with the T20 squad
to provide expert expertise for that gutsy style of cricket in ICC
    events," according to the article.

Dhoni is known to have had
an interim role in India's T20 World Cup 2021 squad, which was eliminated in
    the group stages.
