Digital Desk: There is growing interest among fans for the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan matchup in the
ICC ODI World Cup 2023, and new reports indicate that the game set for October 15 at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium may be rescheduled.
While there has been no final decision regarding the rescheduling of this explosive match between India and Pakistan, there have been worries voiced because the match will take place on the first day of Navratri. According to a report by The Indian Express, security organisations have asked the
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to consider the timetable.
"A decision will be made soon. We are considering our possibilities. We have been advised by the security authorities that a high-profile game like India vs. Pakistan, for which thousands of travelling fans are scheduled to arrive in Ahmedabad, should be avoided as they will be stretched due to Navratri," a top BCCI official told The Indian Express.
Fans may face severe logistical difficulties in Ahmedabad if the India vs. Pakistan game is not postponed. It has been widely reported that reservations for the highly anticipated match on October 15th have already sold out at all hotels, homestays, and lodges. In fact, some have reportedly started even begun reserving health and accommodation packages just to watch the game, according to a report in Ahmedabad Mirror.
Ahmedabad will host the opening World Cup game between England and New Zealand, the match between England and Australia, and the championship game in addition to the India vs. Pakistan contest.
