'Grateful For Every Moment in Blue': Rinku Singh Shares Heartfelt Post on Completing One Year in International Cricket
Rinku had to overcome several hurdles to secure his place in the 15-member squad for the Ireland tour.

Digital Desk: On August 18, 2024, Indian cricketer Rinku Singh marked the one-year anniversary of his debut with the Men in Blue. Exactly one year ago, Rinku received his first India cap during the team's tour of Ireland for a three-match T20I series.

The 26-year-old batsman celebrated the milestone by sharing a series of heartwarming pictures on Instagram. The photos show him proudly holding his cap, along with a memorable image of Jasprit Bumrah presenting it to him, with the entire team celebrating the moment.

Rinku had to overcome several hurdles to secure his place in the 15-member squad for the Ireland tour. Despite the challenges, the Indian team won the series 2-0, with the third match being abandoned due to heavy rain.

Though Rinku didn’t get a chance to bat in the first game, he made a significant impact in the second, scoring a solid 38 off 21 balls with two fours and three sixes.

While Rinku has yet to make his Test debut for India, he was not included in any of the four squads for the Duleep Trophy 2024/25. The tournament features his Indian teammates, including KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and Shubman Gill, who are gearing up for Test matches in home conditions.

Rinku might still get a chance to join one of the squads for the second round of the Duleep Trophy, as some players, including those mentioned, will be joining the Indian Test squad for the two-match series against Bangladesh starting September 19, 2024.
