Rishabh Pant all set to lead Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024: Report
Additionally, the management stated that Pant is expected to be fully recovered by the end of February...

Digital Desk: The Delhi Capitals management has announced that India's star batsman Rishabh Pant, who has been out of the game due to surgery, will captain the team in the upcoming IPL 2024 edition, ahead of the IPL Auction 2024 on December 19, 2023, in Dubai, according to Cricbuzz.

Additionally, the management stated that Pant is expected to be fully recovered by the end of February and is already receiving rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Pant's ability to play in IPL matches, nevertheless, would rely on the NCA management giving their approval.

Pant's chances of playing domestic or international cricket again have been dimmed after he underwent surgery on his right knee after a near-fatal accident on New Year's Eve of last year. He also had to cope with injuries to his back and ankles.

The BCCI (the Board of Control for Cricket in India) clearance is required for Pant to resume his wicket-keeping responsibilities, according to the authorities. If not, the elite player would have to limit his role to only fielding and hitting. Pant is probably going to be one of Delhi Capitals' impact players in the 2024 Indian Premier League.

Pant had to sit out the whole IPL season last year as he healed from the tragic injury. Delhi has decided to retain the 26-year-old in place for the next IPL Auction 2024.
