Digital Desk: India batsman Rishabh Pant moved to Mumbai for additional treatment on Wednesday, according to Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) director Shyam Sundar, as reported by news agency ANI.
Pant was being treated at Dehradun's Max Hospital after being involved in a car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun route on December 30 while heading to his hometown of Roorkee.
"Rishabh is transferred to Mumbai for diagnosis and treatment of his ligament injuries, as well as to determine the next steps. He is anticipated to be supervised by famous sports orthopaedic Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala, who has been appointed by the BCCI. If surgery is recommended, a call would be placed to determine whether it will take place in the United Kingdom or the United States "On condition of anonymity, stated BCCI.
Pant was brought to Saksham Hospital in the early hours of last Friday after his automobile flipped many times and caught fire. Following emergency treatment, he was referred to the Max Hospital.
Pant received injuries to his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, ankle and wrist injuries, and back abrasions. On the highway, a Haryana Roadways bus driver and conductor saved the 25-year-old.
Sundar had previously stated that Pant was responding favourably to the medication. "Pant is upbeat and responding well to treatment... He had plastic surgery on his left brow, where he had been cut in the accident "He stated.
"He will take some time to recuperate from the ligament damage in his right knee. He will receive the greatest possible care "He went on to say.
According to a BCCI worker quoted by the Press Trust of India, Pant faces a lengthy layoff from competitive cricket and would most likely miss the four-Test Australia series at the home beginning February 9.
According to various rumours, Pant may miss the entire IPL 2023 season. He is the Delhi Capitals' captain.
"To get to the point, he was a significant part of (Team India's) strategy throughout the World Cup year. But now that everyone is aware of the situation, "said Hardik Pandya, India's captain in the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka.
