Suresh Raina Remains Unsold in IPL 2022 Mega Auction
Digital Desk: Suresh Raina remains unsold today in the IPL 2022 mega auction. Reportedly, no franchise shows interest in buying the left-handed. However, he went unsold in the first round today but will return in the accelerated auction in the second round tomorrow and might be chosen tomorrow.

Suresh Raina has already set a base price of Rs. 2 crores for himself. In the previous season, the left-handed batsman was a member of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Like MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina had been a key member of CSK over the years. Raina joined CSK in the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008 and remained with the team until the 2021 season. On the other hand, Raina played for Gujarat Lions while CSK was banned in the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

Raina is one of the most prolific run-scorers in the IPL. The left-handed batsman has 5528 runs in 205 IPL games and is now the tournament's fourth greatest run-getter. The 35-year-old has also shattered one century and 39 fifties in the tournament.

Suresh Raina drew attention in his first season, as he smashed 421 runs in the IPL 2008. In the following season, he had another strong score of 434 runs. Raina had always crossed the 400-run mark while representing CSK until the 2014 season.

Suresh Raina was re-inducted into the Chennai Super Kings' squad following a two-year absence from the IPL in 2016 and 2017. Raina has decided to skip the 2020 season for personal reasons. In the IPL 2021, he returned with an average performance of 160 runs in 12 games. Raina was discharged from CSK's roster ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.
